Affordable High Quality Sound

rating: 5/5 by: Epinions Author d_anno - I have two 5.1 set ups in my house. One is the Panasonic SC-PT 1050 that we use with day to day TV. The other is (was) a Kenwood VR 405 that's 10 years old and handled the audio duties in our theatre room. It worked OK... always loud but lacked finesse... Fri, 19 Feb 2010 20:09:01 GMT

Great Surround Receiver

Exceptional, especially for home theater

rating: 5/5 by: Epinions Author senatortom - As a former violin repairman, who happens to be married to someone with a master's degree in viola performance, I would have been happy with a receiver that gave me top-quality, audiophile performance.  I have a very picky ear, and with the move to... Thu, 21 Jan 2010 05:32:33 GMT

Pioneer Elite VSX-26TX: Broke right after warranty period ended. Don't Buy!

rating: 1/5 by: Epinions Author riverboatsam - While it worked, it was by far and away the best receiver I have every experienced.   Sadly, it started losing "components."  Like the DVD channel quit, then a week or 10 days later, the CD channel... then Tape#1.  I "got a deal" for... Fri, 9 Oct 2009 19:33:44 GMT

Super Receiver receives Super Upgrades.

rating: 5/5 by: Epinions Author shigeki - This is a review of the AVR 347, but I will include some instances were my previous receiver, the AVR 340, will be used, since many aspects of their functions are the same. I'll never buy another Marantz

rating: 2/5 by: Epinions Author pessia - Performs well for music and video, but it makes popping noises when muting or changing inputs. Same thing when going between chapters on a DVD.
