Unlimited Golf at Cabo Del Sol

Far away from all the negative publicity of drug cartels, Cabo San Lucas is famous for two things - golf and off-shore fishing. Cabo has some of the most brilliant golf courses designed by some of the most brilliant golf course designers (i.e. Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Tom Weiskopf to name a few). The Cabo del Sol – Ocean Course is rated in the top 100 courses in the world and lives up to the hype every day! Warm sun, great food, deep-sea fishing to die for, and most importantly – fantastic golf! Cabo San Lucas, Mexico definitely has it all. If you’ve ever Tue, 21 Apr 2009 11:50:59 -07:00TuePDT

Red Rock to the Moon Trail - Desert Bloom

The approach to the runway in Las Vegas resembles little of what lies ahead on the Red Rock Trail to the Moon, other than the fact that they’re both in the desert. As the wheels of the plane touch down on the tarmac you may be recalling the dream you were having back home. Places west. Places like Mesquite, Nevada; Page, Arizona; and, St. George, Utah. Playing golf. Fly-fishing. Taking in the desert sights with a camera at your side. Professional golfers, fishing guides and master photographers are with you showing you the best kept secrets about each place and how to do it right. You have signed on for an adventure excursion with <a href="http://www.three Mon, 16 Feb 2009 14:19:56 -08:00MonPST

2009 Presidents Cup in San Francisco!

The 2009 Presidents Cup will be held at Harding Park in San Francisco. In the 8th edition of the Presidents Cup, United States Captain Fred Couples will stack his team to face International Captain Greg Norman's team in a showdown that will surely live up to the hype. A fall trip to San Francisco may be a good choice for the Oct 6-11, 2009 time frame. There are many great courses in the area to visit. You've got wine country courses like Silverado Country Club and Resort , the Monterrey Peninsula to the south with <a href="/golf-courses/Cal Mon, 29 Dec 2008 14:21:26 -08:00MonPST

Back to the 3-and-1/2-hour Round

When is the last time you played a 3.5 hour round of golf on a resort course? I was reading an article this morning that stated how bad the golf business is and how more courses are closing than opening, the TV ratings are down, the equipment business is down, and how tee-sheets are empty. This spells opportunity for the avid golfer! Yes, being part of the golf business myself, I realize that the golf business is down and has been trending so for some time. But the 5-hour round is also gone as the availability to play top-notch courses is growing. Yes, they're still pricey, but now at least they're worth it! The greens are not as beat-up, Tue, 16 Dec 2008 17:30:38 -08:00TuePST

Get Out of the Winter Chill and Head to Hawaii This Year

BRRR!! For many parts of the country winter has come early and the snow has already started to fall. Just the other day I heard that parts of North Dakota received over 2 feet of snow. Personally, I think it's just a bit early to be shoveling that much snow. It is now that you need to be planning a winter getaway to Hawaii. Lush gardens, tropical climate and some of the best golf courses in the world are just a few of the highlights you will experience on these islands. One of my favorite islands to visit is Maui, also known as the "Garden Isle." The PGA Tour visits the Planta Wed, 26 Nov 2008 13:51:29 -08:00WedPST

Two Choices for Nicklaus Golf

Are you as much of a fan of Jack Nicklaus designed golf courses as I am? If you are than there are two places in the United States you will want to visit - Atlanta, Georgia and Las Vegas, Nevada. Both of these cities have what are named Bear's Best golf courses. These golf courses are a collection of 18 holes, hand picked by Jack Nicklaus, from his various golf courses around the country. In 2001 Las Vegas became home to the first Bear's Best Golf Club . Since it was opened it has been one of the most popular golf courses in the city. Some of the many golf courses featured within the 18 holes Mon, 17 Nov 2008 15:02:16 -08:00MonPST

10 Gallon Golf in Texas

Texas is so large, all the information about golf in this massive state could not possibly be contained in just one article. This article will focus on the northern and eastern sections of this 10 gallon hat state. Remotely situated in the northern section of the state sits the lazy town of Lubbock, Texas. Lubbock is home to the Texas Tech University which has a strong history of having great athletic teams. The football team has made 31 bowl game appearances and most recently the basketball team was lead by controversial Head Coach Bob Knight. Golf also has a place at this historic University. The Rawls Golf Course is Tue, 11 Nov 2008 14:53:42 -08:00TuePST

Great Golf in Arizona

When it comes to PGA Tour caliber golf Arizona plays host to events early and late in the year. One of the reasons is the great weather that this part of the country enjoys. While most people are busy shoveling snow off their cars and deciding which scarf goes best with which jacket, in Arizona they are deciding which putter to use on any given day of the week. This year the PGA Tour again returns to the Grayhawk Golf Club for the Frys.com Open . Last year Mike Weir made a Wed, 05 Nov 2008 14:39:54 -08:00WedPST

Spend a Little Time at These Golf Courses in Florida

Having spent some time in South Florida working as a golf professional, I know how popular this part of the country can be for golf during the winter. Every year we would see a spike in our population from the cold northern parts of the country and the main reason was the great weather. Realistically, Florida can be divided into three major areas: Northern, Central and Southern. Each section of the state has distinctive golf courses and attractions. I have a personal bias toward the Central part of the state only because it is home to the Disney World Resort. What can I say - I am a kid at heart! The golf courses in Florida are well maintained and feature larg Tue, 21 Oct 2008 13:59:16 -07:00TuePDT

Golf in the Desert Around Palm Springs

Every January the PGA Tour visits an oasis in the desert of California. Palm Springs is one of the most famous and wealthiest communities in the country. One of the focal points of this great community is golf - the PGA Tour annually host the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic on several golf courses in the area. Now is the perfect time to start planning a trip to the area to watch a bit of the great golf and experience some spectacular golf of your own along the way. If you have never played golf in the desert you will certainly be in for a treat. The lack of trees and the desolate mountains m Tue, 14 Oct 2008 16:35:57 -07:00TuePDT

Nicklaus Golf Equipment is Back - and You Can WIN!

Since Jack Nicklaus acquired back his equipment company from former partner Nelson Doubleday, the real development of quality equipment has begun to bear fruit. The latest and greatest news is that the Polarity MTR Irons were rated #1 by an independent study put on by Rankmark . This is remarkable progress in such a short time! Rankmark pitted 7 brands (MacGregor MT MID Irons, Ping G10, TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Irons, Titleist AP1 Irons, Callaway FT irons, King Cobra S9 Irons, and Nicklaus Polarity MTR Irons) as the "Best of the Best" from earlier Thu, 09 Oct 2008 12:42:30 -07:00ThuPDT

Top Ten Golf Courses You Can Actually Play

Every year the major golf publications come out with their "Top 100 Golf Courses in America." Personally, I am left to wonder why some of these golf courses rank so high on the list. Many of these golf courses were built long ago and have not changed since the year they opened. With the advancements in golf course design I think it is high time to remove some of these traditional top five golf courses with ones that might be better. Tradition should not be a reason for maintaining the status quo. The other problem with many of these lists is that the average golfer can't play on them, they are either private or have green fees that make them accessibl Mon, 06 Oct 2008 10:44:48 -07:00MonPDT

Family Vacations Don't Get Any Better Than This

Sea Island Golf Resort in Georgia, is one of the best golf resorts in America. In fact, Golf Digest rated Sea Island as the number one golf resort in the entire country in its 2008 rankings. Taking a closer look at what Sea Island has to offer, it's not hard to see why they consistently garner such high praise from media outlets such as Golf Digest , Golf Magazine , Travel + Leisure Golf , and Conde Nast Traveler . <a href="http://www.seaisland.com/Accommodations/Acco Mon, 22 Sep 2008 11:13:09 -07:00MonPDT

Aspen: A Vacation Hot-Spot for All Seasons

Aspen, Colorado has long been known as a world-class winter destination. The first thing that comes to most people's mind when hearing the word Aspen, is snow-covered mountains and massive lodges with fireplaces illuminating the property. Contrary to popular belief, Aspen is a wonderful summer vacation spot as well. When there is no snow on the ground, there is a wider array of activities available in which to immerse yourself. Outdoor activities range from hiking, to white-water rafting, to horseback riding, to mountain biking.  However, what might be the best way to spend time outdoors in Aspen, is playing Asp Thu, 18 Sep 2008 16:52:49 -07:00ThuPDT
